In the meantime

So, seeing as I can't cast on for my Rogue until Friday I needed to keep myself busy with something else. I decided to try my hand with my first pair of toe-up socks. I used this cast-on. And I can assure you it is truly magical. Just look, can you see where I cast on?

This is also the first time I've knitted with Noro Kureyon Sock yarn and whereas I love the colours I'm not very impressed with the quality of the yarn. I'm still only on the first sock and I have already encountered three knots. Not happy Jan!

I've heard the same thing about that yarn which is unfortunate given the gorgeous colours!

I've been a little nervous to try the Noro sock yarn, too. We have a yarn in Canada called Briggs and Little. It is a one ply, very coarse wool and the Noro reminds me of B&L which I can't say I enjoy.

All of this did not deter me from buying some Noro to make the Ziggy socks from Knitty. Sigh.
