It's the little things in life...

...that can give so much pleasure. Like popping a sun warmed tomato straight into your mouth.

Whenever I experience that warm burst of intense flavour in my mouth I am always transported back to my childhood in Zambia. I can see my 4 year old self fossicking amongst the tomato plants looking for ripe tomatoes. The pungent smell of bruised tomato stems and the smell of damp red soil.

I'll swap you for a snowdrop?
Know what you mean though, sun warmed, homegrown tomatoes taste like fruit. A friend of my partner's grows far too many every year and it's a delight to go round to his house in summer and come away with bags full of tomatoes.

OOOOooooh very jealous! I simply cannot get tomatoes to grow. We're without a greenhouse at the moment, so I'm going to try outdoor ones this year. Our season is just so short :-( Enjoy them.

i love the grape red tomatoes - but they have to be really ripe - i cant stand bitting into an unripe tomato :( - how are those socks coming along? ;)

My border collie Tippy steals any tomatoes I try to grow in our yard! She nips them right off the plants!

I don't like tomatoes. However the ones my father in law grows tastes like candy, so sweet and tasty! Love them!
