For all of September I only managed miles and miles of lovely soothing stocking stitch. But it paid off because I ended up with an Eyelet cardi. I knitted this with some Utiku 8 ply wool in Orchard that has been lingering in my stash for quite a while.
This was a very satisfying knit because its top down with no seaming. My one problem is that I need to find an appropriate button to finish it off but I've not found one yet.
During the move I also started an Ishbel but I set it aside once I reached the lace pattern. Last week I felt ready to knit lace again so I finished it. I knitted the small version using some Cleckheaton Cocoon which I had swapped on the Karma swap group on Ravelry. Its lovely and soft and ideal for a scarf. This Ishbel is destined for the gift pile and I think I might make a few more in the not too distant future.
It was lovely to feel able to knit lace again. Now I just need the courage to pick up the over 500 stitches for the border of my Dark Star. Soon I hope!

Oh, the cardigan is just wonderful! What a colour! I love it!
The shawl is beauteful as well, and good luck with the border of the Dark Star.
Take good care of yourself!
Mad props to you for knitting a cardigan in fingering weight. I don't know if I can even attempt one! The ishbel look fantastic!
Hi Amanda - love the knits they are great - your looking great too :)
val
They're both beautiful! Especially the Ishbel. I've been seeing that pattern everywhere lately, and I'm thinking it needs to be added to my ravelry queue for after I finish my first shawl. Yours is beautiful!
500 stitches for the border - yikes!! Good luck. ANd I think Ishbel may be my favorite pattern ever (plus I love the name Ishbel!)
I've knitted both those projects :-) Well, the eyelet cardie is on Knitty as Sitcom chic but it looks to me to be the same pattern. And I'm halfway through my Ishbel and really enjoying it. Love your eyelet cardie in that yarn/colourway.
Both those projects look wonderful! I hope that the knitting soothed the moving. :)
Just to keep things in perspective for you...picking up the stitches on the Dark Star has still got to be quicker than knitting the edging.
I shouldn't have reminded myself about that!
Now .... you see .... I knew I shouldn't have looked at your blog. There is now something else I must knit. That cardi looks lovely. Off to look at the pattern!
I love the colorway of the cardi and the shawl is amazing!
Hi Amanda,
The Ishbel looks great. That is such a beautiful color. Oh I wish that I could knit lace.
