I have been away for a few days. We went to the coast and I made a new friend.
A gorgeous King Parrot.
These wild parrots are amazingly trusting, especially when food is involved. And while I was feeding the parrot a few curious Sulpher Crested Cockatoos arrived.
Some knitting has been happening. I am knitting Traveling Woman for the short track shawl event in the Ravelympics. The yarn is sock yarn from Ewe Give Me The Knits.
And I am more than half way through Chart E of my Snow Queen Shawl.
BadCatDesigns has also just released a new shawl pattern, Persian Princess. Have a look at Mary's beautiful version.

The birds are beautiful! I love birds.
Someday I will be able to make lace.
Oh to have pretty birds like that visiting my garden! He really was tame wasn't he/she. Maybe word had gotten around about the very talented knitted lace lady and he/she was anxious to pick up a few tips ;)
The parrots are beautiful arent they. Your shawl looks gorgeous and the lace one looks very complicated, but you are such a beautiful lace knitter you will have it finished in no time!
Those birds are HUGE!!! Excellent Olympic knitting progress too.
Hi Amanda, can you send me a message please? I'd like to respond to your comments on my blog - it feels so rude to ignore them - but I love getting them and wanted to respond too! My email is cybeledejong@googlemail.com
What fun to have those parrots eating out of your hand.
Beautiful birds.
